Welcome from the Co-Chairs

We are excited to announce plans for the 16th International Conference on Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD-16)! The theme of the conference is:

“Finding Common Ground: DCD and Co-Occurring Conditions.”

This theme reflects our emerging understanding of how neurodevelopmental conditions like DCD often present as part of a complex matrix of features that extend beyond motor skills.

DCD-16 is an opportunity to integrate knowledge from many areas of expertise to better understand the overlap and co-occurrence of DCD and other neurodevelopmental conditions. We welcome different perspectives on the challenges and strengths of evaluating, diagnosing, and providing services to people with DCD across the lifespan. Work related to sensitivity and specificity of measures, diagnostic overshadowing, intersectionality, and access to care is of particular interest.

We look forward to the contributions of researchers, health professionals, educators, and those with lived experience. We aim to work collaboratively to promote knowledge and awareness of DCD, especially in the context of other conditions.

Check back in the fall, when we will have more updates on the planning team, the scientific program, and the abstract submission process. In the meantime, don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions. (Email: priscila.tamplain@uta.edu)

We are excited to see you in beautiful Ann Arbor in summer 2026!
